Norris Hundley, Jr. received his A.B. from Whittier College in 1958, and his Ph. D. from the UCLA in 1963. Lawrence Bacon Lee (1917-2003) received his B.A. from the Lewis Institute and his M.A. and Ph.D from the University of Chicago. He served as Professor of History at San Jose State University from 1957-1983 and specialized in environmental and water history of the Western United States.
